Tia, Nourish partner to expand nutrition counseling, women's healthcare access

Tia, a primary care and women's health company, is teaming up with nutrition platform Nourish.

Tia members will have access to personalized nutrition guidance through Nourish, which can address a wide range of health goals and conditions including hormonal balance, fertility, chronic disease management, weight management and general wellness. Nourish patients will also get access to Tia’s services. The partnership reflects Tia’s holistic approach to women’s health.

“We believe nutrition is a cornerstone of women’s health and vitality. While nutrition has always been integrated into Tia’s holistic clinical model, our partnership with Nourish provides tailored nutritional care to our patients,” Jessica Horwitz, Tia’s chief clinical officer, said in an announcement. “Nourish’s evidence-based approach to nutrition aligns with our holistic care model. Together, we’re making it easier for women to prioritize their health with comprehensive, coordinated care that is accessible and is usually covered by insurance.”

Nourish offers personalized nutrition care, medically tailored meals and educational support through its mobile app, which also allows patients to track meals and log their progress. Most of its patients access Nourish services with no out-of-pocket costs, the company claims, due to its partnerships with major payers. These include Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid and more. Tia is also in-network with many of the same payers.

“At Nourish, we understand how essential nutrition is to a woman’s overall health, yet it’s often overlooked or difficult to access,” Aidan Dewar, co-founder and CEO of Nourish, said in the announcement. “This partnership with Tia bridges that gap, making it easier for women to integrate personalized nutrition into their care and take charge of their health in a meaningful way.”

Tia aims to care for women comprehensively with its hybrid care delivery approach. The model includes gynecology, primary care, mental health and evidence-based wellness services. It has a number of health system partners to date, including UCSF Health, CommonSpirit Health and Cedars-Sinai. As of January, Tia served 40,000 members across California, New York and Arizona. The company is looking to expand its footprint to Chicago, Boston and Atlanta, Fierce Healthcare previously reported.

Nourish serves hundreds of thousands of patients across all 50 states. It also has referral partnerships with physicians at the likes of One Medical, Texas Oncology and Dell Medical Center. Last December, Wisp, a virtual provider of sexual and reproductive health care, partnered with Nourish with the goal of making it easier for women seeking total weight management care.
